SEASON'S GREETINGS

WE WANTED TO GET AWAY from the 90-degree weather and humidity at home, and one can always assume it's cooler at high altitude.  And the New Weather now offers cool in spades! Fortunately, before packing, we checked the weather for Zermatt and found 50's -- with 40's overnight -- and threw in some heavy clothing and sweaters.

In fact, New Weather may mean you'll get something you'd never expect. Like 20 inches of snow just above town. And here's what just emerged from the fog as I sat, shivering, on the balcony outside the room.  This is a full-color snapshot, not a black-and-white Japanese print! Does that look cool or what?

Happiness is remembering to pack warm clothes when it's 90 degrees at home.
